I would like to thank all those who previously reviewed the Hourglass Coffee Maker. All the great advice helped me make the best of my new coffee maker right out the box. I used the right roast (dark) and grind (coarse). I did not overfill the coffee maker or over tighten the ends. I've used it several times and have had no leakage or any of the problems described by others. The coffee is smooth and full flavored. There is no bitterness to sweeten, so I'm no longer using sugar. Best of all, no heartburn! I absolutely love it! The bean kanteen has allowed me to chuck the smelly thermos and enjoy wonderful, fresh coffee at work, as well. Thanks again to all those who perfected the technique of brewing in this coffee maker and generously shared their knowledge through product review.

It does as it says it will do - what more can you ask for?

- If you're a regular coffee drinker, you'll enjoy the smooth flavor this thing generates, every time.
- If you're not a regular coffee drinker, you'll enjoy the low acidity coffee this thing produces.

The only downside is that I drink coffee so rarely that the concentrate goes bad before I can drink it all and then when I do get the urge for a good cup of coffee, I don't have any of the smooth concentrate and I'd have to wait 48 hours for the next batch. I would imagine however that most people that are considering purchasing this item are more avid coffee drinkers than I am and therefore won't have this problem.

I've also read some reviews on this cold brewer from self-proclaimed "coffee lovers" that say cold brewed, low acid coffee is only for "coffee amateurs" and that no self-respecting "coffee lover" would consider it. Well that makes no sense. This thing generates a coffee concentrate that is mixed with hot water and can be made as bold or mild as you like. You don't have to be a "pro" to know when coffee is bold, mild or bland. And you don't have to be a "pro" to know when coffee is really acidic. I think the only thing you have to be a "pro" for is to have built up such a thick lining in your digestive system that you're indifferent or even fond of such acidity.
