I have always been a Depeche Mode fan ever since they came out in the early 1980's, and have every CD/vinyl that they have released, so when this remix vinyl with the bonus CD was released, I jumped on it and it was well worth it! I bought it for about $20.00 and when I see the selling price is up to $80.00+, I was happy I got it for so cheap, but then a good investment at that! If you want to pay the $80.00+ it's worth the money if you are a die-hard fan like I am.Hourglass Remixes

~~This is a must have CD for Rosario's amazing club mix of "Kingdom"
This disc is the only place you can find it besides the long gone promos.
The promos from Hourglass were fetching over $100 each around 2008/2009.
They were basically different cuts from Hourglass Remixes, with some additional dub mixes not found here.

Not being a huge fan of remixes but having loved Depeche Mode's 'Songs Of Faith & Devotion' era remixes I bought this set knowing it could be a disappointment.

So, I am happily surprised at the content here. As another reviewer points out, these are edited remixes - and that suits me fine. The longest track is 6.10 and virtually all the versions are imaginative re-interpretations of the original songs.

This collection really does remind me of Depeche Mode's better remixes, with flourishes of Kraftwerk influenced synths and less repetition.

Well worth the investment.

Hourglass Remixes

I don't think i'd be wrong if i said that every Depeche Mode fan would absolutely love this remix offering of "Hourglass." Two years have gone by since the original Hourglass album was released for the remixes to show up. I actually like that Dave and to an extent, Depeche Mode always have something around the corner for their fans. Perhaps David wanted something to go along with just released "Angels and Ghosts." Angels and Ghost offer somewhat typical Gahan sound but the Hourglass Remixes are so different and in a good way. I could listen to Deeper and Deeper (The Juan Maclean Club Mix) over and over again. it's very hard core for Dave Gahan. i must say that Dave and Depeche Mode are probably the only artists out there that were as popular as they were when they first arrived on the scene, yet they kept changing styles with every album. They slowly moved from the 80s synth pop to very strange but amazing mix of hardcore electronica, so a lot of people define them as alternative,, others electronica, when in fact they are the genre of their own. So, bottom line, i highly recommend Hourglass Remixes. Prepare yourself for something different and enjoy it.
