4.0 out of 5 stars Enjoyable Yes, Essential ?, September 28, 2007
This review is from: House of Blues: Essential Southern Rock (Audio CD)
This is an excellent spread of fine songs by many whom make up the Southern Rock genre. I think using the word 'essential' in any title can be questionable based on who's making the determination, especially on a recording covering several different artists. But I will say this is a very enjoyable collection and the quality of each recording presented here is excellent. While it deserves more than three stars, we're missing at least two entities I would have included in this genre: The Outlaws and Charlie Daniels. That, and the fact that 'essential' here is questionable, deserves less than five stars; therefore, four stars are given. You get a good size collection for the price. Great deal.
