Perfect Mindless Action,
By
This review is from: House of The Dead (CD-ROM)
This is a game that reduces the first person shooter to, literally, shooting. There's no need for navigating, remembering where you are or where you need to go, no secret passages or special maneuvers: It's just aim-and-shoot time.As a result, the hardcore gamer will probably enjoy it for a little while and then go back to a game with more subtlety or multiplayer capacity. It's perfect for the casual gamer, though: There's no learning curve whatsoever. The voice acting is of the "wonderfully bad" variety, which gives the game a certain camp value, too. It's also good for kids, if you don't mind them being exposed to the gore, which is non-existent for the human characters and far enough over the top for your undead foes to go into the silly.

Move over Resident Evil, Sega is back!,

When I went to see a movie a couple months ago, I found out I was 30 minutes early. So, to burn some time, I decided to go to the arcade. When walking in, I had noticed a small group huddled around a game. When I decidied to have a swing at whatever game was being cheered for, I had the time of my life with the game I was playing. That game was "House of the Dead." Since it was recently released for the PC, there are some problems like glitches on the enemies and youreself which don't show much. Besides that, more options are available like the proper graphics setting, a boss mode where you could choose a boss you would like to play, and the color of blood the zombies spew out when being shot at(gross)! But side to the gore, It's the entertainment that counts. And while playing the game, your heart will be pounding, fingers sweating and preventing your fingers from shaking! This game is a winner!

This game goes way beyond addictive. Let me put it this way ~ my wife was upset at first at the violent and macabre nature of the game. It didn't take long, however, for her to get as sucked into it as I was! Now to make a long story short ... she's completed the game twice already, and I still haven't! Sega, hurry up with HOTD 2 for the PC!

This is one of the best games EVER!! When I downloaded the demo version, I sat down and started playing it and, IT WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST GAMES EVER, AND THE BEGINNING OF ONE OF THE BEST SAGAS EVER!!! As I played the 2 minute demo I grew to learn the many branching pathways and which zombies and innocents were in them. Now when I buy the full version for PC, i'll learn more of the game and see the new zombie that await me.

This is a awsome shoot-um up game. You go through levals by killing goons and thier bosses. This is real fun all you do is shoot zombies and weird creatures. This is even in multiplayer so you and a friend can wipe out these creatures together. This is a must for any shooter/horror fan.

The House of The Dead is the BEST Saga game ever. This game was made in 1996, the same time as Resident Evil. Actually The House of the Dead and Resident Evil are both the same. One, there is a mansion. Two, they both have zombies. And three, the both have a under ground lab. I am not sure wich one came first though I like The House of the Dead better. The story is, I quote " As a special operative, your misson is to rescue DBR laboratory staff, while fending off hords of un-dead and other genetic mutations. Load your weapon and splatter every rotting zombie, beefed-up cadaver and killer monkey that stumbles your way!" The graphics are good for a 1996 game. The game's voice acting is horrible. It is so horrible that it's great! This game is gory so kids under 3 should not play this game. But if are 4 you're ok for this game!!!! I give this game a 5 outa 5. Remember "Shoot Now, Aim Later."
