Real music for real people,

Unpretentious, honest, relaxing, uplifting - the songs on this CD make me laugh, cry, tap my toes, and sing along. It makes me want to go to a mountain with my portable CD player, put on my headphones, and stare up at the sky. This CD provides an escape from work, people, "stupid rock," and the noise of everyday life.

It's like listening in on the best of Mountain Stage. Many enjoyable cuts; I especially like Potter's Wheel, and I found this disc searching for the Chenille Sisters--Howlin' At the Moon is a good intro to them, if you haven't heard them before.

i adore this CD. it's been wonderful getting to know theold ballad, 'black jack davy', understanding why some of my roots music buds like bill staines, and being introduced to a lot of musicians i've never heard of before. as a wanna-be fiddler, this CD has the additional value of superb fiddling on many tracks. |
