5.0 out of 5 stars Honky Kicks ***!
A friend of mine picked this album up and had me listen and I was knocked out! I don't know if any of you remember the Butthole Surfers but this is the bass player's new band. That is where the similarities end! This is southern-style, good old fashioned, beer drinkin' rock! If you like Ted Nugent, Thin Lizzy, Kiss, Beer, Roadsaw, or Novadose you'll have to pick this...

3.0 out of 5 stars House of good tires by Honky
I actually saw these guys after getting this album. I saw them at a small venue in SF, California. The have a great sound, with attitude and raw talent. They are from Texas so they have a southern feel to it, but to me they are just a good ol Rock n Roll band! Good cd and fun lyrics!

5.0 out of 5 stars HONKY.... (need I say more?), July 21, 2011
This review is from: House Of Good Tires (MP3 Download)
I first heard of HONKY after I finished my enlistment in the Marine Corps. I'm from NY, but had friends in TX so I decided to move to Austin, TX and work down there for a few years. A co-worker/friend of mine who, like me, is a big hardcore punk/metal/rock n roll fan told me about them and we went to a show. It was love at first sight, just straight up a** kicking southern rock mixed with Jim Beam, Cold Beer and a little THC. During the 2 years I spent in Austin I literally saw them play every other weekend, it's the only thing I really miss about that place.

So.... if you're into that old school southern rock feel this band is definitely for you...

You see, you have a '71 Chevy with some rust and a good engine, your baby's squeezed up against you tight, and there's a tallboy Lone Star between your thighs. Things are lookin' mighty good 'cause you got a bag of weed in the glove box and a shotgun behind the seat, the road's long and straight, and tonight's bowlin' night. If that ain't enough, there's a new Honky CD in the player, a transmission from the Church of Everlastin' Glorious Bliss, the Gospel according to Southern Gentlemen, Rock and Roll you only find around cactus and Mexican food.
