Editorial Reviews

Eccentric millionaire Fredrick Loren and his 4th wife, Annabelle, have
invited 5 people to the house on Haunted Hill for a "haunted House"
party. Whoever will stay in the house for one night will earn ten
thousand dollars each. As the night progresses, all the guests are
trapped inside the house with ghosts, murderers, and other terrors.

House on Haunted Hill is a lovely movie; it's creative, it's atmospheric
and it stars Vincent Price. Highly recommended viewing, especially
for horror fans.

This is the original 1959 version in 3D Black and White for an ultimate experience in creepy spooky horror. This version requires 3d glasses.

The 3D conversion for this DVD sucks. I got as much 3D effects out of the film without the glasses as I did with them on. I believe I wasted my money. Anyone wishing to buy this, beware. You'll be throwing your money away.

2.0 out of 5 stars POOR 3-D OF YET ANOTHER CLASSIC HORROR FILM ! October 6, 2013

The anaglyphic two-color 3-D is very poor . It hardly shows up on my T.V. screen . Not even worth the disappointment of trying to watch . Don't waste your money !

3.0 out of 5 stars Buy the non-3d version July 20, 2013

I really like this film, but it wasn't filmed in 3d, and this conversion isn't worth owning. It is pretty flat, so why have to wear glasses?

Here is the first and maybe only review for "House on Haunted Hill"--the 3-D version. I am not all that crazy about movies being in 3-D, but I wanted to include another release version of "The House on Haunted Hill" to my collection (B/W, Color, RiffTrax commentaries, as well as the 50th Anniversary Edition). Since this classic horror movie was not shot in 3-D, there really are no scenes that jump out at you...The characters are some-what in-depth. I did enjoy watching Vincent Price at the very end operating the skeleton in 3-D! Figured this would be a fun movie to show if you were having a party yourself! Plus, while your guests are watching in this 3-D, think like William Castle and do your 'Emergo' version by releasing a skeleton above your TV to scare them!!!!!!
