I have both House of Heroes cds, "what you want it now", and "house of heroes". I have been listening to the first cd for several years straight. It is amazing lyrically and musically. I didn't think their music could get any better, but they managed too with their latest release. I can't get it out of my cd player! They are a much needed break from the sugar pop that the music industry has been subjecting the public to over the past five years. If you like thought provoking lyrics that you can sing to and music that really drives, then this is the band for you. While I like all of the songs on this album, I highly recommend "Friday night." We all know some body like the person in Friday night or we are that person. But like I said before this album is awesome. It's probably one of, if not, the best album I have bought this year.

I am very happy with the new House of Heroes cd, it hasn't left my cd player since I got it. I've been listening to their last cd, What You Want Is Now, for years and I've always appreciated the unique flair the band has. The new cd is just as loaded with that originality. They have a strong, tight sound and they're not afraid to mix things up and make music that doesn't follow a conventional pattern. The music alone tells it's own story in each song. Definitely check this cd out.

These boys know how to rock. They are not your average 3 peice. They've got something new, fresh, different. Passion. Their lyrics are beautifully inspired and talentedly written. Their musical talent as well leaves nothing to be desired. A true 5 star preformance. Cannot wait to get the chance to see these guys in concert this summer. Buy this CD, you will not be dissapointed.

I've been waiting for another cd from this band for two years. The long wait was well worth it. They managed to put out a cd that rocks. Along with 9 new songs, are two old songs. Mercedes Baby, which is my favorite song from the first cd, and Suicide Baby.
The only critque i have about this cd, is the absence of the long intro to mercedes baby. Overall an excellent cd.

I remember hearing about this band from purevolume, and I have been hooked on them ever since. Lyrically one of the best albums that I have heard in a very long time. This band will make you think with its sometimes dark lyrics, to the teenage years like that of "Friday Night". They have perfected on making an album that can be appeasing to every single soul, and I would highly recommend getting it without a shout of a doubt.

I highly recommend the new House of Heroes album! Fans of "What You Want is Now" will no doubt enjoy the self-titled second CD from the band. The album is a more mature version of HOH's unique style, bringing both fun and truth to the music scene. An overall great buy that will be sure to impress!

House of Heroes have a unique sound and amazing hearts that shine through their voices, each chord, and every beat. They have a wonderful sound and their beautiful music is filled with abstract ideas and metaphors that need to be heard. They are definitley one of my favorite bands, and I encourage you to check them out!

Great follow up to their first record. New versions of old songs are solid except for "Mercedes Baby" - where's the big metal finish from the original? This band is much better than most of the pop crap out there, pick this one up.

I can honestly say I did not expect this album. House of Heroes first cd was decent... though nothing I was going to write home over. However, when I put this in I just had to tell everyone I knew about it.

The only downside to the cd is how closely it sound to Weezer at points. I don't not like Weezer, and ripping off Weezer's sound is not something that makes me jump up and down with joy. Thankfully, House of Heroes does Weezer a lot better than Weezer has done Weezer, with the possible exception of "Pinkerton."

The songs are performed tightly, are composed very interesting, go in great directions... perhaps the biggest compliment for this album is how I've had the pre-release for about two months and yet still haven't grown tired of it. I get bored with music fairly easily so the fact that this album has endured makes it better than I might innitial think on first listen.

Definitely recommended.

these guys are amazing! I love Buckets and Metaphor and Pulling Back the Skin. Even if they weren't really really cute guys I would love their music. The lyrics move my soul and the music moves all of me. You need to buy this cd. it is the best I've heard in a long time.
