This movie has fun plot twists AND Michael Madsen. What more can you ask for? Too bad we can get it only on VHS.

5.0 out of 5 stars It is sensual and hot, May 2, 2002

this is a great story line. First you think Michael Madsen is a murder and a bad guy. Then you end up liking him. He is, - what can I say......? A HE-MAN! He is masculin and he is charming.
Helen Slater is a very good actress. Probably one of the best.
I would like to recommend this film to all women and perhaps to a few men!?

3.0 out of 5 stars Madsen Makes the Film, July 21, 2005
This review is from: A House in the Hills [VHS] (VHS Tape)
So -- I really REALLY like this movie. But not for the plot. It has a great idea...but then becomes rather cliche. Outside of Madsen, I think the acting is weak, the directing is okay, the writing could have been stronger. Michael Madsen -- as always -- is phenomenal. Understated and reserved, as I have typically seen in his work, I felt he made the film something worth sticking with. I wanted to see how his character developed and how he worked with this multi-faceted role that he brought more depth to than I saw with any of the other actors. For that alone I love the movie. With anyone else in the role of Mickey, I think the movie would not have held my interest.
