HOUSE OF MIDNIGHT FANTASIES
by: Kristi Gold
Book review by Terri Richison
Sexual tension explodes off the page in this fast-paced story. Pampered princess, Selene Winston, was the perfect daughter, right down to marrying the man of her mother's dreams. A year later, reeling from a loveless marriage, divorce and her mother's disapproval, Selene strikes out on her own.
Restoring the beautiful, neglected Maison de Minuit, the House of Midnight, is the job of her dreams except for the dark and brooding owner, Adrien Morrell. What lies behind the locked door in the room where he forbids her entry? What happened to the woman the townspeople whisper about?
Will the lustful attraction they enjoy deepen enough to heal these wounded lovers?
Don't miss this hot and passionate story that will leave you panting for more.

House of Midnight Fantasies by Kristi Gold
Silhouette Desire # 1728 - May 2006
Rich & Reclusive themed series
Coming out of a bitter divorce, Selene Winston needed to prove her independence. So contracting to direct the restoration of a run down Louisiana plantation manor seemed like just the new beginning she was looking for. The Maison de Minuit (House of Midnight) had seen some bitter times, as had its owner Adrien Morrell who had kept himself secluded. Selene has very strong intuitive powers and she feels Adrien's thoughts, both his desire for her and his tremendous sorrow for the loss of a woman named Chloe. At night Adrien's fantasies call to her, their strength awakening a matching desire. Selene's connection to Adrien is too much for her to resist, and soon the fantasies become reality. Their sexual bonding becomes almost an addiction, but it's an addiction Selene must learn to control because her visions of Chloe's death and Adrien's refusal to share his secret, soon have her wondering if there is something sinister being covered up.
This is a dark gothic-style story that I found to be a compelling read. Ms. Gold's use of Selene's visions as tools to see inside Adrien, work well to bring us a view of a man who is tortured by events he finds he can't move past. The chemistry between Adrien and Selene is electric, and the love scenes scorch the pages. This history of the plantation adds atmosphere and intrigue. I found I couldn't put this one down until the end. I'm sure I'll be reading this one again :D
