I had lived in Prairie du Chien yrs. ago and had been interested in this book, but ... had never made the time to acquire and read this book, until recently. I do remember being to the "House on the Mound" and to have details filled in about the family that built it and lived there was quite interesting. I really did like this book ... and have passed it on to other family members who have also enjoyed it.
