5.0 out of 5 stars If you are a bondage and submissive type this is THE book
that is definitely a MUST HAVE for you ..... Matter of fact you'll probably have to tie it down on your desk because you will want to read this masterpiece over and over ....

The book deals with the whole concept of bondage and submissive behaviours while managing to keep the S&M activities in a perfect balance with the total premise of the book. Generally I have...

I was unable to finish this book. The problem was that it (to me anyway) lacked sufficient tension. The protagonist seemed to be floating along a scenic river that was going at a comfortable pace toward a destination of his own choosing. Everything fell into place to provide him with the exact experience he sought from the beginning. To me, the protagonist should have...

that is definitely a MUST HAVE for you ..... Matter of fact you'll probably have to tie it down on your desk because you will want to read this masterpiece over and over ....

The book deals with the whole concept of bondage and submissive behaviours while managing to keep the S&M activities in a perfect balance with the total premise of the book. Generally I have found bondage books slip and crash over the line where one finds it low on the eroticism levels and high on the cruelty level ... a total turn off for me ...

The book is about Richard a young contemporary English gentleman on vacation in Germany. We don't really know what Richard does, but he certainly has enough time on his hands to allow himself to be 'captured' and 'trained' by Margaret, a skilled teacher of the submissives who enjoy it ....

Margaret takes her time to train both males and females and then sends them to the homes of very wealthy people that love to have the pre-trained maids, hosekeepers and sexual toys under their hands .....

The fact that they have developed a modern use and applicaton of chastity belts in this book brings the writings and the plot to high levels ..

The book also manages to deal intelectually with the whole concept of the submissive surrendering to the delicious demands of their masters that makes the book seem very very real to those who are into it ... The sex and the love scenes in this book are hot so if you are into submission then ask you master permission to buy this book immediately ......

To me, the protagonist should have some surprises & difficulties along the way, challenges to overcome, life changing decisions to make. The (protagonist) character should undergo some metamorphisis based upon discoveries and the effect of new experiences and reactions to previously unknown sensations. The crossdressing came entirely too easy for him. It should have been devistating to go out in public like that at least for the first time, whether or not he came to like it later. Maybe if I'd finished it, these things would have come about. I may yet pick it up again and give it another chance.

2.0 out of 5 stars Ditto, July 22, 2002

The September 19, 2001 reviewer has it exactly right. There is not enough dramatic tension in this book, which I also found to be the case with Scott's Travels with a Whip. How can one write about erotic and unusual sexual practices without them being sexy, or not sexy enough at least? Read these works and see... Though I agree with another reviewer as well, the chastity belt aspect was nicely done.

By A Customer

I don't know but I just liked this book. I explores other kinds of Ds than is my preferance but I found it interesting nether the less. It had a plot, storyline was nice, and as another reader said, the characters actually spoke and interacted. They had feelings and thoughts and intellect. A very nice read.

1.0 out of 5 stars Sick!, September 9, 2001

This review is from: House Rules (Paperback)
If sadism is your game, this is your book. As for me, I'm not a sadist and found it utterly repulsive. Others for enjoy this book are equally disturbed. I have since burned the book and sorry I wasted my valuable time on trying to understand those who are EXTREMELY disturbed. I accept the fact that I never will relate to it and glad I don't.
