4.0 out of 5 stars Surprising & Sassy. Overall, v.v.v.Good, December 31, 2001
By S. Foster (Moira, Co Armagh United Kingdom) - See all my reviews

You know those albums which never make is big but you know the songs from? Well, this is going to be one of those albums. Alisha's Attic are one of Britain's best-kept musical secrets. This, their 3rd album is an album overflowing with ace tunes & incisive musical & lyircal capability, that it's tragic that these 2 sisters are not recognised further. From the infectiously catchy first single, which chronicles their relationship as sisters (Push It All Aside) to the Venetian mood of the tragically gorgeous Pretender Got My Heart, this album mesmerises me with its tunes. My personal fave is Perfectly Happy which rolls between a jaunty verse & a power-chorus. If you like you music to be accessible & are unafraid to take the road less travelled, you could do MUCH worse than purchase this album. Definitely a sassy little number that's in my Top 5 albums of 2001

5.0 out of 5 stars Their best CD so far..., October 1, 2001
By Mr. C. S. Smith "jcms" (Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire United Kingdom) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Shelly and Karen's third album takes them back to the top of their form, easily beating their disappointing second albim 'Illumina' and just topping their excellent debut 'Alisha Rules the World'.

The (almost!) title track, The House That We Built, is just one of the wonderful quirky tracks on this album, other highlights are 'Pilot' and the two singles 'Push it All Aside' and 'Pretender'. But all of the tracks are definately worth a listen, no duds here.

Definately not the run of the mill mush we seem to 'enjoy' in the charts these days - try it, you'll find yourelf surprised.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice tunes and different sound, September 18, 2001
By A Customer
First heard this group in the UK. They have a nice sound, interesting (double entendre) lyrics like "sex is on everyone's tongue" and a wonerful style. Give them a try...
