Fourth Season disappointing -- new writers.,

I agree with others who have noted that the first three seasons of "House" were very noticeably better-written than the fourth season has been. Check it out, you'll find that there's a whole new bunch of writings pumping out the scripts and story lines of the fourth season. One would think that FOX went out and hired teenagers to write the 4th season episodes. It's one thing for Dr. House to be irritable, sarcastic, and even unethical (for the sake of a greater good). It's quite another thing for Dr. House to be just a jerk -- and apparently "for its own sake." Do these new writers actually believe that we who form House's original fan base have just been hoping that someday the main character would become lots more rude and despicable. One of the neatest twists to the early seasons was the way the viewer was drawn to identify with the lead character, despite his outward grumpiness, because beneath all that was someone who had not only a sharp, witty tongue but also exceptional diagnostic skills and a basic goodness of character. That Dr. House evolved during this fourth season into someone most of us would not want to talk with, let alone work alongside in a medical career. Ironically, it's far easier to identify with that little gecko character who comes on during the "House" commercial breaks. [Hey, I wonder if that's what they intended all along...]

Its nice to see a different trend in pop culture TV. House allows the viewer to indulge. Its great the show tests faith and how it affects alertness. House is a great show. I hope watchers have the courage to question their beliefs.

"House" thrives on the wackiness of Hugh Laurie. The show has definitely grown & evolved since it's launch.Enjoyable but some cases do seem a little extreme and how House will direct his team to diagnose (Do everything until something sticks)

The TV series House is excellent. My friends and I have been watching it since it first began. Love the show. The DVDs of all its seasons on the air are excellent.

It doesn't get any better than this series. It's all due to Hugh Laurie who brings a dark, cynical humor to the role. It's a smart show.

House, M.D. - Season OneI refused to watch this TV series for two years. My children ages 16, 19 & 21 had been watching the show and raving about it. I saw a 10 minute scene with "Dr House" Hugh Laurie and thought he was rude, obnoxious and mean a purpose. Didn't plan on ever watching it again and by happenstance watched an episode where time was critical to a patient that had every test know to medical science and House's weird genius was clued in by some nothing comment by his best friend and solved the case. The thing I really like about the show is a great supporting cast that is easy to like. I like the fact that genius though House may be he is sometimes too smart for his own good and those around him take advantage of this which kind of evens out his rude, obnoxious behavior. Lisa Edelstein and Jennifer Morrison's characters are just tough enough to deal with this ego maniac and obivously this is one of the best written shows on TV today. The medical explanations are illustrated with special effects graphics that are easy to follow and compliment the storyline. "ER" has been and still is a great TV series but House M.D. takes it to a different level. You don't have 15 characters to develop and follow. This is some of the best TV yet.

When the last season ended I was thinking that there was no way I would get back into enjoying House again as I could not imagine it without the original supporting cast. However, it has been really enjoyable and captivating following the direction they are heading and also getting to gain insight into the new characters as they unfold. I love this show! Dr.House (Hugh Laurie) is such an excellent and diverse actor he can make just about any situation "work" and be beliveable! Go House!
