not going to get into the housecore/side project history... i will say that it was killer to finally hear some Body And Blood besides the clips on Charlie's Family... and it was rad to hear some shellshock as well... the Donovan punch stuff is completely different from Soilent Green and the Alyse track....good god... first time i heard it, i played it for 3 hours straight...as Mr.Williams will attest "it's amazing isn't it!" you also get a new AA track from the next album and a cut off the 2nd christ inversion lp, some Rat In A Bucket, crowbah and Clearlight and a few unexpected twists...

after all this time i can't believe Housecore is finally taking off and i can't wait to hold in my hands material i've wanted to hear for years.

I thoroughly enjoyed this compilation of stuff on Housecore and soem stuff of it is new to me then there is stuff i know and love like Eyehategod Crowbar Body & Blood Alyse Christ Inversion Soilent Green the Mystik Krewe of Clearlight is tight and i dig Ponykiller, anything Donovan Punch is on is always intense. Then there are new bands to me like Rat in a Bucket,Bum Freak In Egypt is cool as hell. I dig the f***ing album it's insane but my only issue(hence the 4 star) is the paper thin package that it comes in. If you know Housecore you'll notice all their stuff is paper cased and that's cool. I get it saves money, however this i bought cheap and it came with the matchbook thin spine that was frayed a good bit. What i'm saying is you can keep this paper case anywhere inbetween conventional jewel cases . They need to come out with a Vol.2 but me being a supporter of Housecore i will say that's on me for not expecting that it was gonna come in paper.I just hate to rip em from continuous wear. 5 Star music 4 Star case. Go check it out !

If taking the "alternative" back means having one guy make a bunch of goofy songs with several bands..then look no further than the 2nd disc. Donovan Punch (whoever the heck that is) is in like every other band. I found 3 songs on disc 2 that i liked..body and blood, alyse and ponykiller. The body and blood has the most potential..its like Sabbaths planet caravan..the songs are based on that minimal concept. of insturmentation. Cd is more promising..but you may have the tracks by crowbar or eyehategod. Still good songs..the shell shock song was worth having..i wanna get whatever they have..as i love 80;s hardcore. It been cool if there was a Bedemon song on here..I wish i passed this up..and spent my 10 on the new Devils Blood or something..
