4.0 out of 5 stars Good laundry soultion for the price
My goals for this product were to simply store laundry in separate compartments, look presentable, and remain stationary. It certainly does all three of those things just fine. Installation was a snap, it only took 15 minutes at the most.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good laundry sorter
This is good for sorting laundry, especially if you're single or a small family. An extra large load in our washer is 1 1/2 of the sections, as opposed to just 1. It's made of seagrass and the odor was so obnoxious, like being in a barn full of hay, I'm afraid it would make allergic individuals sneeze constantly. I even sat it outside in full sun with no change in the...

It's made of seagrass and the odor was so obnoxious, like being in a barn full of hay, I'm afraid it would make allergic individuals sneeze constantly. I even sat it outside in full sun with no change in the odor. I used polyurethane on it to stop the stink. It also couldn't handle much abuse either. As it folds flat, I tied some jute strings to the bottom of the frame to help reinforce it. It doesn't take up much space and with it closed I even have a small workspace.

I can see how some folks have complained about the durability/structure of the unit. If I were to have installed the casters (wheels) and planned on rolling it around the house, I'm not sure how well it would hold up in time.

For the money I'm satisfied. Sure it could have a bit stronger frame, but for my stationary needs it works just fine, I would gladly recommend it to a friend if they had similar needs.

I found assembly to be fast and easy. The unit is not exactly what you would call sturdy, and it is certainly not "furniture". It looks exactly like the photo...no surprises. The "grass smell" that another reviewer found unpleasant and objectionable, for me, is actually one its nicer qualities! I would call it an "aroma". I purchased this item to use in a country kitchen as an upgrade from open bags to hold clean trash, and glass, plastic, metal and paper recycling on their way to the basement. I'm planning to put the currently used bags inside the compartments for easy removal when full. Having noted the "central sag" issue of another reviewer, I will either attach some support below, or put heavier items in one of the end bins. I will probably be functional, and is not particularly unattractive. Sorry... Can't figure out how to insert product link...

3.0 out of 5 stars nice looking but casters won't stay on, March 12, 2008
This review is from: Household Essentials ML-6445 Woven-Seagrass Triple Laundry Sorter with Casters and 3 Removable Bags (Kitchen)
It is nice looking but the casters will not stay on and when you pull your laundry out the white bags lift off. I am going to see if I can maybe buy some better casters.

I was drawn to this basket because it was the perfect size and color for the space I had to fill. I am glad that I listened to the positive reviews listed, which were most, rather than the critical few who disliked the product.

I am VERY pleased with this product. It is more than I expected it would be for the money.

I love the way this hamper looks and it's the perfect size, not too big, nor too small. I love that each bags hold the equivelant of one load for my washer/dryer- so when each bag is full, I know it's time to do a load.

My only complaints are that I noticed that a small peice of the sea grass already started to unravle from the bottom of the hamper (I tucked it back in and will eventually put a little glue on it to help it stay tucked). Also, I've noticed that the bottom bar sways considerably in the center once I have put dirty clothes in it. This pulls the top of the hamper away from the lid, causing a gap in the center of the lid and hamper (kinda bugs me, b/c then you can see our dirty laundry inside- which is the reason I chose a pretty hamper... to hide it!). This tells me that they should have put another set of feet under the center of this hamper to make it more sturdy. Also, I was expecting the canvas bags inside to have handles so that I could pull the bags out easily and use them for actaully taking my laundy to the machine... However, they velcro around the inside bars, making them more permanent. You would probably only remove them to wash them on occasion, not to use them every time you want to take a load to the machine. Other than that, I am happy enough with it. I would actually buy it again, b/c I don't think there were any better alternative ones. The price is good too.

This product is very nice. It is on the delicate side, if you sat on it you would break it for sure. its pretty, looks nice, etc. Cons? It sort of falls apart, if you will. All the pieces just sort of set inside of each other.. Nothing really "fastens down" or "snaps in". So if you scoop into the basked you may bring the entire basket and the mounting brackets with you. Thats ok, you just put them back into place, not a big deal. I would of like to have it snap together a bit.

The wheels? don't bother. If you want this as a roll around unit, you have come to the wrong place.

1.0 out of 5 stars one foot soldered crookedly; broke as soon as I got out of package, July 23, 2011

I read all the reviews ahead of time, trying to be really careful to pick something that would work well and be a decent buy for a decent product. Didn't see a review for this hamper that mentioned a foot being soldered crookedly. One foot was totally crooked, then broke off as soon as I got it out of the package. Maybe made from lead? Made in China? I've had other items break like this, which otherwise seemed sturdy, so should not have. The hamper is pretty flimsy. Certainly won't last like a hamper basket would (I've had baskets in the past that have lasted decades). The casters have nothing at all to do with the hamper. There's no way to set the foot into the caster. Very disappointed in this hamper, which was, for me, quite expensive ($73). I wasn't expecting a piece of furniture, just a nice serviceable, attractive basket set up as a hamper. It's definitely nice looking. But now I have to go to Home Depot to see if it would work to buy a soldering iron and some solder to get the foot back on. That will be another prox $30, then, for the hamper. If that's not possible, I have to live with a rigged up block or something where the foot should be (they're not screw-on, mind you), which I'm sure will be quite annoying, as it will slip off when jostled--not to mention will look ridiculous. The seagrass will unravel from the bottom, too--thus the won't-last aspect.

After reading other's reviews, I knew exactly what I was getting and I'm not dissapointed. The smell was mild. Great to look at.

This review is from: Household Essentials ML-6445 Woven-Seagrass Triple Laundry Sorter with Casters and 3 Removable Bags (Kitchen)
The exterior is nice but the bags are hard to get in and out. The velcro is very strong, will need to offload the laundry into a basket instead of just pulling out each bag.
