I bought this stair basket just last fall. I had been wanting one for a while and thought it would be easy to find locally in home centers and furniture stores. I was so wrong. The only place I was able to locate any at all was a gift shop that offered a model more made to look at than be functional. It was small, loosely woven, and expensive. I finally saw the light and came to Amazon choosing this one based mainly on the price. On the whole, there isn't a lot of variety with these even on Amazon. There are a few colored ones, fancy ones, and the Amish made ones that I have no doubt are excellent quality, but expensive as well. This Household model is just a smidgen bigger than the small Amish basket available here, but cheaper in price. As for the quality of this basket, I agree with the other reviewer here that it doesn't disappoint in the least. Its very solid, handsome, and feels like it will take a lot of years of being tossed around on your stairs before some of the wicker starts to come apart. As for its convenience, this is one of the handiest and most functional items you can own in your home in my opinion. Just about everybody has a set of stairs somewhere in their house. And it just follows that small items such as gloves, various clothing, flashlights, toiletry items, etc, will find their way into parking themselves in this thing when they are needed either up or down, and we are presently too lazy to hand deliver it at the moment. It sure beats just resting something on the stairs where it doesn't look all that nice, and can of course cause someone to fall. I love mine, and frankly now wonder how I got by without it for so long. The only thing I don't care for on this model are the handles. They mostly just get in the way more than anything else for its a whole lot easier to just grab it from the top when you need too. Other than that, I love this very solidly built functional basket, and I give it a high recommendation...
