The photographs in this cookbook are superb. It contains good starter recipes for children as well.

I bought this book for my 10 yr old niece and she loves it! She has already made several dishes. Excellent for children 7 and up. My son who's 8 also wanted the book for himself. I'll have to get another one;-) Lots of pictures and easy to follow, great for adults too, especially those learning to cook for the first time.

This is the best kids' cookbook I have ever come across. It is not cutesy. There's no gimmicky commentary or graphic dazzle. It does not involve building a log house out of pretzels. It really teaches kids to cook, and it teaches them to cook real food. Each recipe tells a kid exactly how to do things safely, without an adult hovering. The recipes are so good that I use two of them as meals for company (the roasted chicken with vegetables, and the chicken fingers with mustard dipping sauce). I know this book has been out for a while, but none of the others I've looked at can hold a candle to it.

This is an excellant book for kids 8 and up . It breaks down recipes in easy steps so children can actually follow them on their own without a lot of adult intervention.

I think the book is absolutely wonderful! But it is a Christmas present for my 12 year old granddaughter who loves to cook and has outgrown her Strawberry Shortcake cookbook. I can let you know her opionion after the holiday.
