Simple and to-the-point,
By Julie Trueson "Flyer" (Charlotte, NC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: 37 Houseplants Even You Can't Kill (Paperback)
The reason I like this book is because it gives me just what I want to know, no more, no less. So many books on houseplants go overboard with information and it just gets overwhelming to read through all that stuff. If I could change one thing, I would give two pictures of each plant instead of one: one close up and one further away, to give a better idea of what the plant really looks like if you're not familiar with it.
Bottom line, though, if you are just getting into houseplants, this will give you just what you need without overwhelming you. Good plant choices, concise info., helpful tips.

I'm new to gardening indoors and outdoors, but I am truly trying to learn without getting too scientific. I see it as a hobby, not a vocation simply because its nice to have plants you like scattered around your house and home. This book helped me a lot. If you're a novice or know one, it makes a great gift.

I am fairly new to the care of indoor plants. This is my first book purchase for the care of indoor plants for my home. I look forward someday giving plants as gifts to family and friends with simple care instructions for the plant. I will recommend this book to everyone I know who has an interest in indoor plants. The information in the book is straightforward and practical. I don't have to be a botanist to understand and appreciate. I just want easy to care for and difficult to kill beautiful indoor plants. This book addresses that very desire. It is quick reading with lots of pictures to help identify the plants. I love the sturdy construction of the book because I intend to refer to it often for help.

Really appreciate the straightforwardness of this book. In my opinion there are a few difficult plants in this book that I am still struggling with (the corn plant) but other than that and the small bad pictures, its a nice small book you can stick in your purse and refer to at the nursery quite easily. I really appreciate the simple instructions and info on each plant this book provides.

I needed a book like this to help me learn the watering needs of my plants. They vary so. Also I learned how much light each requires. This easily understood book, is wonderful!
