5.0 out of 5 stars Get Ready for a Good Laugh, December 19, 2001

Tonya Ramagos (Chattanooga, TN) - See all my reviews
Fifteen-year-old Angel Milldridge wants to do something special for her mother's birthday. What better present can she give her than the man of her dreams? And how does she plan to do that? By putting a personal add in the newspaper. But when applicants start showing up at Mira Milldridge's doorstep wanting to marry her on the spot the adventure begins.

Nick Kade is a bad boy turned school teacher. He doesn't believe in love and has no intentions changing for anyone. Then he rescues Mira from the eager beaver advances of add applicants by announcing their engagement---a fake engagement.

The whole town is in an uproar. The news of Mira and Nick's upcoming marriage has everyone planning and celebrating. Their even planning to air the ceremony on the news! Now Mira must set everyone straight and confess to the lie. But is it what she really wants to do?

HOUSEWIFE FOR RENT is a complete riot! From page one all the way through I laughed, I cried, I laughed so hard I cried. Michele R. Bardsley has written a fantastic tale of romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat eager for more. While the book is rated R, it is a must read for any adult that loves a good time.

5.0 out of 5 stars A sure cure for the blues!, September 25, 2000

This review is from: Housewife for Rent (CD-ROM)
A sure cure for the blues -- any book by Michele Bardsley.

When reading Housewife for Rent, I was immediately drawn into the light-hearted romp of a romance. The premise -- a 15-year old daughter advertises for a man -- for her mother. The resulting prospective dates are a hoot and a half. A timely intervention by the daughter's math teacher saves the mom from dating hell, however his idea to be her pretend fiancee opens up even a bigger can of worms. The ending is satisfying. You can't go wrong with this one.
