I am a long-time Johnny Winter fan and own most of his releases.
This was a total waste of money. It is absolutely the most poorly recorded CD I own. What you can hear of Johnny is great as
always, but the sound quality is incredibly bad. Buy this only if you want a prime example of how a CD should NOT sound.

Not a first time Johnny Winter buy, but for the JW freak, August 4, 2010
This review is from: Houston Sessions (Audio CD)
I have almost every Johnny Winter CD I could get my hands on, so I finally bought this. As I suspected Tracks 4,5, and 6 are from the Parker's Place, Seattle WA concert of March 9, 1985, and these three tracks are very good (4 is Hideaway, not Yeah Good, 5 is Parchman Farm, and 6 is Red House). These three tracks are absolutely fantastic and great sound quality! (You can get 5 and 6 on Johnny Winter Live Bootleg Vol 2. Track 7 is the same as the last track on Johnny Winter Live Bootleg 6 and it is a decent recording, but not the greatest, however it is a fantastic rendition of It's My Own Fault, that likely dates to the late 60s. As for tracks 1,2, and 3 (Leland Mississippi Blues, Black Cat Bone and Meanest Town I Know) are poor recordings and 1 and 2 have little to offer beyond other recordings of these two songs, however, track 3 is a gem for the Johnny Winter freak. It is mis titled as the bulk of it is the song Mean Town Blues, but it turns into a medley when after about 7 minutes of great jamming (regardless of the less that stellar sound quality) Johnny changes to about 1.5 minutes of Dallas, then 1.5 minutes of I'm Yours/I'm Hers. I have not found any live performances of these two anywhere else, so the whole CD is worth it for that alone (to me and at the price I paid $5). Cover art/foldout is pretty nice too. YEAH, I Like It!
