Editorial Reviews

From the Artist

Conductor Michael Krajewski had this to say about working with former President George H.W. Bush on the central work of this recording, Glad Tidings: "...as soon as former President Bush started reading, I could tell that he understood how to deliver this narration. The idea of the piece is to have a very simple, direct, sincere approach to telling the Christmas story both in the words and the music and that’s the kind of guy he is – sincere and direct."

About the Artist

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Holiday Experience, November 11, 2004
This review is from: Houston Symphony Glad Tidings (Audio CD)
The Houston Symphony's follow-up CD to last year's excellent "Winter Festival" is the unique "Glad Tidings". Unlike traditional holiday CD's, this one includes a stirring narration of the traditional story of Christmas by former President and Houston native George H.W. Bush. Being a Texan, it's impressive to see the former president support the local symphony and participate in the creation of this full length CD. The symphony does an excellent job, the production values are strong and President Bush provides an inspiring rendition of the story of Christmas. It's a great gift for family, friends...or yourself.
