4.0 out of 5 stars HOUSTON...AS IN TEXAS, October 31, 2006
This review is from: Houston, Texas: A Photographic Portrait (Hardcover)
This book does a nice job of showing Houston at its best. The images are very well presented, though i wish some had been more crisp and vivid, but i appreciated the talent in the photos. As someone very familiar with this city, I can say this is a perfect representation of the city, the author obviously knows Houston and he shows off the city in its best light. Houston, unfortunitely, has a reputation for being an ugly, barron place with high humidity and lots of mosquito's..this could not be more inaccurate, Houston is lush and modern, and though it does have hella hot summers, the fall, winter, and spring are like heaven, and the city is blessed with an excellent park system and many gorgeous parkways, as well as being one of the foremost cities in the country for the arts. Check this book out, this is the real Houston.
