Product Description

During incubation, eggs must be turned several times a day to prevent the yolk from setting to one side and to exercise the embryo. Turning the eggs by hand is the most demanding and time consuming part of egg incubation. Specifications: Turner hold a total of six egg racks. Each Universal Egg Rack holds any size from a partridge egg up to duck eggs (total 41 eggs per turner), and with the quail egg racks in place the turner will hold 120 quail eggs. 15' x 15' x 3',110 Volt AC (220 Volt available for export). CAN BE USED WITH ALL HOVA-BATOR INCUBATORS. You get one turner with 2 sets of racks. Pictures show turner set up each way.

help... I am trapped in a sea of white quail. Although there are many factors in a good hatching rate, the ability to plug in and forget it is so great after hand turning and the lost sleep and low hatch percentages that go hand in hand when you don't have one of these. Now, I have improved results with a nice jump in production. Good price considering the un-ending potential for labor savings. THIS IS HOW YOU TURN EGGS CORRECTLY, Period...

Everyone says these things stick because of little plastic parts that were not machined off properly. If I was a farmer or avid egg incubator I may be able to "rig" this thing myself like other claim they had to, but I'm not those things. It does stick and it jolts the eggs when it finally "unsticks" itself. It's a noisy process. It does work ok as all of my duckies hatched successfully without me having to turn them at all. **IF YOU PLAN TO INCUBATE LARGE EGGS, SUCH AS DUCK EGGS, and you plan on filling the incubator, PURCHASE THE TRAYS SPECIFICALLY FOR DUCK EGGS. I had to space mine out because you can't put them next to each other because of the size. The trays it comes with are made for smaller chicken eggs (and they send tiny trays for quail sized eggs). It seems a bit overpriced for a lot of plastic and a small motor but it will save you from incessant turning and penciled x marks, and the stress from worrying about all of it.

good product for the price. if you get one unhook the motor and travel the trays back and forth to find spots where the extrusion lips might catch and make the track jump, scrape them off with a razor blade. Do this before you put eggs in it. If you don't, you can hear it catching in spots when it is turning, this could cause the turner to seize up.

This item is a great purchase...I ordered two and was really impressed first of all at the time it took to get them. It only took 2 days!! Put the eggs on them as soon as we got them and have been amazed at the difference in the amount of quails that have hatched in the incubators. Worked so well, gave one to my brother-in-law. Would recommend this product to anyone raising chickens or quails.

It works. I did have a couple of the mini trays that were cracked, but I'm not hatching quail eggs, so I haven't bothered to contact seller and try to get them replaced. I did run this machine for 3 cycles of eggs and had no issues with it. The Styrofoam incubator has a groove that accommodates the cord from this thing. it is a good design. I did have some issues with large eggs in the outside trays, hitting the side of the motor, its not a big deal, just can't put in egg in that slot or it binds up.

GQF products are far superior to their competition. These egg turners are literally a version of "plug and play". The user does lose one spot on the egg rack due to the placement of the motor. But when you have tremendous hatches due to your eggs turning - who cares about the loss of one egg. I coupled this turner with a GQF genesis. You would never know either was working as they are so quiet. We have hatched out all sorts of chicken, chukar and pheasants with both products

I am on my second GQF egg turner and incubator. GQF makes great products for a great price. BUT be ware - the egg racks are not precision machined and you need to use a sharp knife or some kind of file to take the edges of the egg rack end bars down a few milimeters or else the racks don't fit into the turner or if you jam them in they dont turn well. So be prepared and be careful when you trim the egg rack end bars. Once that is dont, this is one great little device! I would give it 5 stars if it weren't for the need to trim the product in a way that is difficult and potentially dangerous to you.

I'm trying to use the 120 quail egg racks (model #1610 turner) with negative success! Small quail eggs will probably work, but the larger quail eggs are too big and cause the adjacent rack to hang-up on the egg after it has fully tilted and starts to tilt back in the other direction. Also as the racks are moving in an upward direction, they tend to lift the larger eggs up and out of the holder as they encounter the egg on the upward movement, then as they start there tilt back in the other direction, they hang-up on the egg. I have the model #1610 auto turner that I'm using with the Hova-Gator #1588. The turner is a poor design. Should have allowed for more space between the racks taking into consideration larger sized quail eggs! If you can't get a turner that works properly with this incubator, then I'd look at another brand of incubator, as this incubator and turner combination just don't work with other than a small sized quail egg.
