Unknown to me when I ordered this book, "How to Attract Money" is simply the reprint of a chapter from "Collected Essays of Joseph Murphy," which I already had! I became suspicious when I read (on page 8): "As you read this chapter...." I looked through my small collection of Murphy books (which I purchased during the 1980s) and found the one that had that chapter. Of course, the material is still valid, and I shouldn't criticize those who thought they could make money by repackaging the writings of Joseph Murphy. Since it had been some years since I last read anything by Murphy, I was pleased--in a sense--to be reminded of the universal appeal and timeliness of his insights.

This book is a must read. Information is presented in a very simple but powerful manner. It has a lot of examples of people who succeeded with the help of the author and has information on the steps they have taken and how they changed their mindset. A book worth reading over & over again.

Suspicious why none of Murphy's stories have been verified,
This review is from: How to Attract Money: The Law of Attraction, Revised Edition (Paperback)
As a broad statement, I find it suspicious that no one whom Murphy mentions as having had some great demonstration done for them via the application of these techniques has come forward. At least not to my knowledge. Does anybody besides me wonder if Murphy just made up these stories to sell his books? Not saying he did, but who can tell? In this book he tells of a female teacher in California(who listened to Murphy's lectures) admire an $8,000 ermine coat. Her annual salary at the time was five to six thousand per year. But by application of Murphy's techniques, she met a man who proposed marriage, gave her a diamond ring and bought that EXACT coat for her. Is it too much to wonder why this woman apparently never came forward to verify this story? Many stories like this are in most if not all of Murphy's books. Not one out of hundreds of people who supposedly had great demonstrations spoke out about their success using Murphy's techniques? They are ALL media/blog shy? Come on. (Reminds me of Catherine Ponder who is another author very much like Murphy with seemingly hundreds of stories like this throughout her books. Not one of her stories has ever been corroborated either as far as I know). Nor have Murphy's. Ponder is lionized in "The Secret" which alone casts enormous suspicion on the claims in "The Secret." Makes me suspect "The Secret" is just a continuation of a century-old "Law of Attraction" claim-scam. I speculate that Murphy, Ponder, the author of "The Secret," and the dozens of other similar authors know there are plenty of fools(apparently including me) who want to believe you can get what you want without working for it. (And please spare me the argument that "visualizing" your dreams in detail for twenty minutes every day constitutes "work"). I further speculate that their subsequent riches from book sales and movies have less to do with the "Law of Attraction" than from just being clever observers and caterers to what some book-buyers want to believe. Five years from now the next chapter in the "Law of Attraction" con will unfold by another clever author writing another book. Let me guess a future title: "Son of The Secret," anyone?

I liked this little book, lots of affirmations and clear description of how to obtain what you want. But as one reviewer correctly pointed out, this is a reprint and if you have a copy of "The power of your subconscious mind" you probably will not find anything new here. If you are new to Dr Murphy it is good read, but buy it used, I dont know where the publishers come up with their prices.

I found a person online who won 112 million in the lottery, using Joseph Murphy's techniques, you can read the full article here:
[...] You can also Google the lottery winner's name; "Cynthia Stafford" and find her all over the web of her very interesting story of winning the 112 million. Also, Google "Cynthia Stafford photos". Denise Marie Hansen

Not for me. Simply lacks what I am used to as exceptional work from Dr Murphy.
Definitely disappointing. Dr. Murphy is one of my most favorite motivational and insightful writers, I continue to be moved and change my life for the better through his works. Just not this one.

Learn to write about How to Attract Money, and you surely will attract a lot of readers hungry to throw their money. The same old trick this is the "Secret", by the way there was a book with the same name and same contest - how to attract nothing.
