I have been buying books about auditioning for commercials for several years, as well as studying the craft. I have finally found THE book that has given me the tools to turn my auditions into jobs. The style of the book is witty, and relaxed, but very professional and hits the target of what I have been striving to accomplish. I am so thankful that someone finally got real, and shared the secrets to success in this field!!!

This book is transformational!!! I've been acting in commercials for decades but was in a huge rut. I was auditioning, but just not booking the jobs. The frustrating thing was I did not know why. Now I do. Exactly one day after reading this book I got a callback for a commercial and booked it! The simple yet powerful insights that Jenkins shares are invaluable. Not only I am going to be booking more commercials,
but now I know how and why!

W.L. Jenkins' How To Audition For TV Commercials From The Ad Agency Point Of View tells how to land TV commercials by understanding what ad agencies are really seeking. W.L. Jenkins is a former actor turned ad agency executive, so he's in a rare position to understand both sides of the table. From how commercials are created to understanding scripts and storyboards and adding elements to a presentation which will capture ad agency attention, How To Audition For TV Commercials is a necessary reference.

I bought this book from a bookstore in Hollywood several years ago, and it is not an overstatement to say that it was THE turning point in my commercial acting career. The insights that W.L. Jenkins provides are invaluable, and he provides you with a perspective on the process that I think many actors auditioning for commercials simply lack. And interestingly enough, he points out that the decision makers in the process can often tell when you don't know or care enough about what the commercial process is really all about. If you're goal is a career in tv commercials, or if you're simply looking to supplement your acting or other income with commercial work, do yourself a HUGE favor and give yourself the edge that this great book provides. I live and work and earn my living as an actor in Hollywood, and I recommend this book to anyone that approaches me about getting into commercials as the first book they should read, and I can't recommend it highly enough to anyone out there looking to break into commercials. It's also very well-written and a fun read!

W.L. Jenkins, "How To Audition For TV Commercials: From The Ad Agency Point Of View" is not only a masterpiece .. it should be a required read for anyone who is both a professional on camera actor as well as those who are about to enter the world of commercial acting ... as well as voice overs!

I have owned this book for the past couple years and to this day, I still find myself going back to certain portions of the book time and time again. It has become my "bible"each time I prepare for a new audition. Clearly, my bookings have increase ten fold since I've owned this informative gem.

It will boost your confidence level going into that big audition. Why? Because Jenkins gives you the tools to prepare you for whatever the casting director or ad agency throws at you ... whether it's working with a partner, a product or having to improve for a specific scene.

This has been a MAJOR key to my success and I cannot thank W.L. Jenkins enough ....

Wow. This is the ONE book about auditioning to which I refer people the most - both seasoned actors, and those looking to break in. I have even purchased copies to give to friends, which I have never done with any other non-fiction book!

I am a longtime working actress - both on-camera and voice over. This book has helped me in both arenas. The way I see it, Mr. Jenkins focuses on the people actually hiring you for the job. Not agents, casting directors, nor even directors - it is the agency (and sometimes the client) who ultimately decides who they want to be the face/voice of their campaign. This book shows you how to find out what they might be looking for and how to show them that you have something they want.

You will not regret having this book as a resource in your industry library.

W.L. Jenkins provides actors with a unique perspective to auditioning in the highly competitive world of commercials. Actor's too often become obsessed with their own process and forget the reason they are there to audition. W.L. reminds actors to think the way the Ad Agency's are thinking and in this way one's chances of booking will increase. There is a plethora of valuable information contained in this book and I highly recommend it to any and all aspiring actors!
