2.0 out of 5 stars Warning - WAY SHORT
Warning! It's a great little book but its super short! A collection of quotes - valuable as they may be - has to make you think - "is this really a $7 book if I can read it 10 minutes?"

5.0 out of 5 stars Guys, it's almost perfect!, April 22, 2004
This review is from: How to Be the Almost Perfect Husband: By Wives Who Know (Paperback)
As an Author, Coach, and Motivational Speaker I read alot of books about people, their motivations, and their relationships. How to Be the Almost Perfect Husband is a cliff notes version of all the relationship books for guys that are out there. Every guy should have a copy as a quick reference guide.

Each of the 100+ pages has a thought, principle, or practice that is short, sweet, and impactful. Not every one will work for every woman so you'll need to try a few out and see the results you get. Some that work for me in my relationship with my wife are:

** I know you want to help, but please don't jump in with a solution before I've finished telling you my problem. Sometimes all I need is a sympathetic ear. - Linda

** Always kiss me good morning and good night. - Penny

** Now and then, let her have a day to herself. It's a wonderful gift that won't cost you a thing. - Suzanna

** Praise your wife, even for the little things. - Susan

Husbands, buy a copy of this cool little book and take action. You'll be very happy with the results.

What a great book! What every man should know - this is what women are really thinking and what they really need. As a couples therapist, these issues are dealt with everytime a couple comes into therapy. It is so important for men and women to understand one another. This book, and the companion book "How to be The Almost Perfect Wife" are great for couples to begin a dialogue into what they need from one another. Highly recommended!!

WOW! This book is dynamite! I'm recommending it to every married person I know for Valentine's day, birthdays and anniversaries. My wife and I had tears streaming down our faces after seeing this book and the companion book on How to Be an Almost Perfect Wife: By Husbands Who Know. It is easy to read and is easy to find things. This is a LOT better than those VENUS books if you ask me!

Read a passage before you enter the house. For those of us who try to figure it out but still don't get it, and don't want to spend time reading tomes about communication and the difference between planets, this book is perfect. It's heartfelt, direct, and free of the middle man (or woman). J.S. Salt has assembled a very readable and helpful handbook free of intrusion or editorializing. It says what it says. Use what you can. It beats guessing. And leave a copy of the Perfect Wife book on HER front seat.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great book to slip under your husband's pillow!, January 28, 2000

J.S. Salt does it again - packing wisdom, wit, and truth into a pocket sized book, much in the spirit of his hit for kids and parents: "Always Kiss Me Goodnight". Women from all over the country share universally good advice in bite sized quotes that say it all about men and marriage. My favorite was: "It's not enough to talk to me by e-mail. During the day, I need to hear your voice now and then." For a lot of substance in a fun and funny package, buy this book!

It's a very basic book that doesn't take long to read. What I like about it is that it comes from a woman's point of view. It delivers the message of what women find to be truly important. Maybe because it comes from a neutral party, men listen to the advice. It never hurts to re-read it as a refresher. I bought it as a stocking stuffer for my husband and bought the counterpart for myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars haha! good wedding gift, August 9, 2008
This review is from: How to Be the Almost Perfect Husband: By Wives Who Know (Paperback)
A group of us purchased this as part of a gift for a coworker who was getting married. We thought he might need to know "how to be the almost perfect husband." It's really funny but honestly true! I am married and read through some of it before giving it as a gift. It had some of the same things I had said to my husband in it! That helped us both find some humor with certain things in our marriage. Very lighthearted and fun.

4.0 out of 5 stars "The Woman Call It As The See It!, June 1, 2003
This review is from: How to Be the Almost Perfect Husband: By Wives Who Know (Paperback)
Wonderful--- very funny, poignant. In one sentence you can almost sum up the woman's relationship with her husband. What's wrong... and what is right.

I have suspected woman have had these thoughts about men since the beginning of time. J.S. Salt has done his homework. Every man will think his wife is talking about him.
