This book is written at a time when people all over the world are struggling with a lack of money, a lack of jobs, social unrest; in other words, a time when people need some uplifting reminders of how to be happy in spite of current circumstances.

I particularly like this: "The point is that you can decide which mood - which mindset, if you will - you'll adopt for the day ahead. And the strange thing is that however you choose to begin your day, that choice will have an impact on how you experience the rest of the day!"

Authors, Mary Roberts and Abha Abas remind the readers that we have choices every day - actually every minute of each day - and how to turn those choices into positive, uplifting ones to rise above any negativity that has been robbing us of happiness.

Thank you for this book. It is timely and contains very useful and helpful techniques on how to achieve happiness.

I absolutely loved this book because it took out the need for money from the happiness equation. Although the author shares many of my own views on being happy, what thrilled me was the simple way it was written - it just all made sense :) If you feel the happiness level in your own life is looking a bit sour then I would strongly recommend this book - it shows you in easy to implement steps how to have happiness in every aspect of your life - the life you have today, not the one you hope to have someday.

Loved it :)

I like the formatting of the book. Cover is bright with smiling faces, Easy to read simple language. No jargon in the story meaning it's meant for everybody. The author here is addressing basic root causes of the problems we face in this century. A lot of us are stressed out unnecessarily due to peer pressure. I learned a lot of lessons in book, be yourself and don't live a "borrowed life"

The most important message the author is trying to convey is, whatever negative situation you find yourself in, is as result of wrong decision you took. Make informed decision before you embark on any task. I understand we live in a very fast world but again as the author has penned here, try and live a happy and contented life, in turn it will respect you.

i heard a financial adviser on TV once who said that no matter which tax bracket you belong to, from minimum wage worker to billionaire, how secure you'll be with your earnings depends on how much you manage to live on-- and be content with-- while still having some part of you that gives and serves. i'm not going all hypocritical to say that a high income won't make me happy, and i wouldn't resist it if the opportunity came.

money IS something, but it is not everything. if you're the type who thinks that a high level income is the magic pill to happiness and you won't be happy until you get there, this book will open your eyes on how to work on that 'everything else' aspect that money can't buy and still feel like a million bucks. once you get that sorted out, you'll find that your low income isn't so low after all.

no hoodoo-voodoo stuff, just sound, sensible advice. highly recommended for the consumerism victim lurking inside every one of us :)

I found this book a quick and light read. I don't think it will cause people to really make drastic changes in their lives though, it's just too superficial and simplistic for that.
The relationship people have with money is one that might well be different for everybody and so the premisse that money and happiness should be disconnected, is a good one, but it will work out differently for everyone.
And to be honest; although being poor does not mean that you can't be happy (I live and working in developing countries, so I witness the opposite frequently), to be dirt poor really gets in the way of fulfilling your full potential, which highly contributes to being happy.
So a bit too simplistic for my taste, but kudo's to the authors for trying to make a positive difference.
And.... I downloaded it for free, so I got some free entertainment on a rainy afternoon. Much appreciated.
