Perhaps you think you could stand a chance in the Octagon. Maybe you think you could take out everyone in a biker bar given the right situation. Or perchance you'd like to go toe-to-toe with a drunk midget wrestler. Well, after you read this book there is no more "maybe." The fact of the matter is that after you read all 208 action-packed pages, you will be able to UTTERLY ANNIHILATE ANY OPPONENT regardless of size or strength.

I am a serious student of the martial arts. I have studied a variety of deadly fighting styles on two continents. But after reading this book I realized my skills were akin to those of a drooling toddler attempting Tai Chi. Fortunately, Judah's instructions make everything crystal clear when it comes to using the magnificent gift that is the human body to maim and destroy people you don't like.

Five out of five stars. Martial Arts has a new name, and its initials are Judah Friedlander.

I was pissing out of my butt when I picked this book up in a friend's bathroom.
Immediately after reading the first sentence, my diarrhea was cured.
The rest of my movement was as firm as a day old baguette and as odorless as a bottle of water.

THANK YOU JUDAH!!!!!!!

I don't own any instructional books besides the Joy of Sex and the Joy of Cooking, but HOW TO BEAT UP ANYBODY is more useful than both of them combined.

My favorite is the sneak attack on Bigfoot, but you have to be airborne to pull it off. Just remember Bigfoot hates people because we know how to make better meals.

Plus Judah teaches you to eat like a world champion, an extra large pizza, a jar of mayonnaise, pour it on tuna, add some kielbasy and some pigeon and mix it all together with your hands of steel and you get the perfect land, sea and air protein meal.

So whether you want to learn a soaring sandal stomp, a surprise 2 man aerial attack, a butt bomb, or to deliver some elevated street justice (firm thighs required, you will find enough irreverent humor in this book with about a half dozen crazy photos and instructions on each page. Pure fun!

The year Judah Friedlander was born, man first walked on the moon. Maybe. Other great achievements since 1969 include Judah scoring 243 goals in a single game of International soccer in Brazil while at the same time acting as the referee. Judah wears many hats, literally, from his critically acclaimed movie role in American Splendor, to his role as Frank in the award winning ensemble show 30 Rock, but in this incarnation he is The World Champion. Judah Friedlander, a 20 year stand up comedy vet, has written his first graphic novel style book based on his stand up schtick, The World Champion. Here, he teaches you how to defend yourself against the angry big foot displaced from deforestation, sizing up to combat your opponents, the mysterious triangles of power, the importance of levitation, and how to handle confrontation with mutant aliens. Is this book an introduction to subversive esoteric knowledge, or just a light hearted romp through kitsch and camp loving America? Whatever the answer is, the real reason to get the book... Judah looks good in a dress. And there's hot naked pictures in there of him, albeit censored; who knows what powers would be unleashed to mere mortals if they gazed upon him uncostumed. The book is filled with tons of great hilarious photos that Judah took or helped with himself, and it is definitely worth it's $17.99.

I bought this as a gift for my husband who is a brown belt in karate. He has enjoyed it quite a bit. Parts are a little racy but overall is quite funny and entertaining.

The author has no lack of self worth in a comedic way. A guy with an alter ego "Borat" style. It's a martial arts spoof with goofy pictures and jokes. If you like stupid, edgy comedy, this is for you. It's a bit racy and I really did not care for it.

I know there are different senses of humor and different opinions on what's funny. So I won't judge the merits of this book on how little it made me laugh.

I just want to set the expectations properly. There is no narrative here. This is not a tradtional book. It's page after relentless page of pictures and captions of Judah telling you he has supernatural karate powers and routinely murders opponents in all sorts of odd scenarios.

Also, the level of writing is consistent with the "How to beat up anybody" title.

Basically, once you've seen the title and saw the picture, you've got the joke. It does not change. It does not break character. There is no more to it than that.

I give this a very low review because I expected an actual book, rather than one tediously repeated ironic gag.
