This review is from: The How-To Book of the Bible: Everything You Need to Know But No One Ever Taught You (How-To Books) (Paperback)
Including basic information on how to approach meaningful, Catholic Bible study, this book moves beyond this to include keys to establishing a deeper "bond" with the Bible. The book is an entertaining, comprehensive resource from a trusted source and will be an excellent companion for either novice Bible readers or those looking to deepen their scholarship of scripture. Interesting sidebars, charts and other resources abound.

In the How-To Book of the Bible, Karl Schultz provides an excellent understanding of the Catholic approach to Scripture. This gem of a book is unique, presenting the political, geographic and cultural components of the time, in addition to being a good reference for understanding the individual books of both the Old and New Testaments. For both the beginner and more advanced readers, the How-To Book of the Bible will further an understanding of prayerful meditation, during both happy and more painful moments, through the help of the Holy Spirit.

Boy, this really helped me {:^),

This book helped me get past the daunting task of opening the Bible. I know I sound lame but as a Catholic, I had no idea how or where to start. This book helped me get the dust off the Good Book and start to read it. I would recommend this book to any Catholic or even non-Catholic for great advice on where to start, how to absorb and synthesis its contents, and live out the message. A very good book that gently guides you through the Bible. |
