I have never read a more enlightening and easy to understand testimonial on leading our fellow man to the saving power of our Lord Jesus Christ. The author details all the various "types" of people who need the Lord but have all the "excuses" or reasons why they will not accept eternal life that He so freely gives. Read and Study this book! Put into practice what you learn and catch the vision and the excitement of how you too can be an effective witness for Jesus Christ. I wholeheartedly recommend this book for all born again Christians! We have a command from our Lord to go forth and spread the Gospel of salvation and make disciples of all nations. This book helps you understand just how easy it is! It is packed with scripture after scripture, all intended to use God's Word as the two edged sword it is! May God richly bless all who read and challenge themselves with this author's mighty testimonies on how you too can be effective in building the Kingdom!!

He starts out with 8 types of difficulties people could be having and how to deal with each. It runs the gamut. Then he has 15 good "hints" for how to handle the process of witnessing in general.(...)

This book is great. It is very cheap and a bit hard to find. It is great because Torrey gives so many wonderful ways to get people to think about Christ long enough till the Holy Spirit grabs and convinces the heart. It does kind of run-on a bit but too easy to read not to own and read often.

How to Bring Men to Christ by R. A. Torrey was first published in 1903. The book is hardback with generous margins and is just 121 pages long with about 20 additional pages of book adverts, some of Torrey's works - though 6 pages of adverts are duplicates!

The book is split into 13 chapter and is an excellent read. The contents are compiled in this one volume from Torry's various lectures at Bible Colleges, YMCA's and various other meetings and are an aid to Bring men to Christ, with the types of people you will meet in Christian work, their excuses and how to respond from Scripture.

The final chapter is given over to the Baptism of the Holy Spirit which is power for service. The previous chapter is some hints and suggestion, how Christian workers should work (words of wisdom and advice, don't argue, be polite etc.). Some of the chapters have numerous questions and answer the Scriptural responses - verses from the Holy Bible to point the enquirer too, or the sceptic are VERY good - though the chapters are in Roman Numerals!

The book also reveals how to deal with Jews and Roman Catholic, eternal punishment, teach truth and errors will take care of themselves, how new converts can success, prayer and Divine guidance and that God want all men to be saved and we have our part to play; each and every one of us.
