Review

Network marketing, despite its 50-year history, is still largely misunderstood by most outsiders. Randy Gage, in his excellent book How To Build A Multi-Level Money Machine, helps to de-mystify and legitimize this powerful distribution concept. More importantly, the book lives up to its title. Almost devoid of the success stories of others (the hype), it focuses on what you the reader can do (the how to) to ensure your own success as a network marketing professional. How To Build A Multi-Level Money Machine is conversational and highly practical, with sound advice on selecting a network marketing company, getting off to a fast start, and growing your business big - mostly by essential prerequisite to (and an inevitable result of) success in this business. He also emphasizes the importance of duplication in building a secure network that will produce ongoing residual income. An established company will have its own system of ensuring this reproducibility, Gage points out, and he wisely advises the reader to follow that system to the letter. For those who lack such a system the book describes a generic one, with components available from the author. Clearly a veteran of the trenches, Gage makes no attempt to conceal his mistakes and failures along his own road to success. His transparency is refreshing in a business whose practitioners often minimize the hard work involved, and advise us to just "fake it 'til we make it". Randy Gage brings a large dose of integrity to an industry too often accused of lacking it, and his book is a major contribution to the professionalism of network marketing. Highly recommended. -- From Independent Publisher

More About the Author

Randy Gage is classic American rags to riches story. A high school dropout, Randy rose from a jail cell as a teen to become a successful multi-millionaire. He is the author on nine international bestsellers that have been translated into 25 languages. He is best known for "Risky Is the New Safe," a thought-provoking look at how the accelerating speed of change is creating chaos and disruption - and thus great opportunities to become wealthy. "Risky" appeared on the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, USA Today and Publishers Weekly bestseller lists.

Randy's next book due in early 2014 will actually be titled "2024." It will be a sequel to "Risky" and go deeper down the rabbit hole. In the new book Gage reveals a stunning and sometimes shocking picture of the real future we will experience over the next decade. "2024" reveals how disruptive technology and other advances will create the most accelerated change in human history - thus the most daunting challenges, and ultimately - the greatest opportunities ever seen to create wealth.

When he's not prowling the podium, or locked in his lonely writer's garret, you'll find Randy playing third base on a softball field somewhere. Tweet him, friend him, follow him, or just stop by http://www.randygage.com/

If Network Marketing is something that interests you or any one you know, this book is a must. Whether networking has just recently caught your eye or you have been involved with this industry and have failed or succeeded, this book is a must. If you believe in learning from mistakes, let Randy Gage make them for you. His knowledge of what works and what doesn't in network marketing is among the finest and most accurate in my opinion. Network marketing is something that I was skeptical about, just like 99% of all people are. After reading this book, I jumped into the networking ocean, used Gage as my swin fins, and caught a wave comparable to the North Shore Pipeline. Every chapter, paragraph, sentence, word had me nodding my head to all of the possiblities network marketing has put out there for ordinary non-sales type people. And I feel great to have found a company that seems in compliance with all of Gage's techniques that made him the multi-millionaire that he is today. Discover the power of duplication and whether the company you are with or are about to choose is subject to intense government regulations. Dispose of your friends thoughts, "Is that some kind of pyramid scheme?" See how 10- 13 hours a week now can give 24 hours of free time a day in 3-4 years. Read this book if you have any type of interest in network marketing.

If you are in multi-level marketing (MLM), you probably already know about Randy Gage. He has analyzed, through firsthand experience, the factors necessary to be a success in what I predict is the business of the future, and they aren't necessarily what you might guess. Do you try to sell product first and only then recruit distributors? Randy says that's the wrong approach. Do you look for "natural" salesmen to put in your downline? Randy says don't do it! Surprising? Randy Gage understands the nature of the business and what it takes to succeed in it: self-replication. I don't know anyone writing about MLM who understands this better than Randy.

I don't like ostentatious covers; so I had to take this one off, and have the silver-on-black spine urge me to the reading process. And then the unexpected: page after page of excitement! One doesn't expect good-sense and focus in business-types; this book has it all, plus a wealth of incalculably astute advice: if you can't make it big in NM after reading this, perhaps opt for miserly retirement now: Gage shows that NM is much more than optimal life-style: it is about making this earthly round, to speak with Pater, burn with that hard, gem-like flame!
An indispensable book not only for NM, but for self-realization!

I first met Randy Gage back in 1991 in Orlando at a seminar that he was conducting on International Drive along with Don Faila. The man is very elequent to be sure, a great public speaker but also knows this business inside and out. And he has the best tools.
I began listening to Randy's tape "Secrets of a Dynamic Day" over and over. This wasn't a hype you up, rah-rah tape, it discussed the necessities of building your business. Randy suggested listening to it first thing in the morning. I listened to it twice per day.
Randy also had a tape called "Escape The Rat Race", a generic tape that we would hand out to prospects. It was all about downsizing that had escalated at that time and it was the best prospecting tool that I had used.
I listened to Randy's tape set over and over. This guy is a real nut's and bolts sort of guy. He tells you what to do and what not to do. Having just left a herbal nutrition company that had collapsed combined with some real bad training by the company founder, I was eager to find something that worked. Randy's advice did and still does work.
How To Build a Multi Level Money Machine is Randy's best work to date. You will learn the science of netowrk marketing, what works and what doesn't work. You will also learn some of the schemes and scams perpetrated by mlm'ers. You will learn how to pick the right company and which companies to avoid.
I highly recommend How To Build a Multi Level Money Machine. In addition, I also recommend the WAVE 4 books by Richard Poe. And I recommend anything you can get your hands on by Randy Gage.

Format: Kindle Edition
My favorite parts:
- Spelled out the exact BEST time to work your business (7-10pm)
- Stressed reliance on TOOLS - because they duplicate
- Explained WHY long distance building can create some of your most successful lines

Weaknesses:
- Didn't give a lot of real world examples & figures (e.g. On average, most distributors need to sponsor 150 people before finding one person that will advance to the to of their pay plan.)
- Didn't give a realistic picture of WHAT is entailed in achieving an outstanding income
- Not very much practical advice (how to invite, what to say, how to close)
- Not very compelling or inspirational
