I tell you what...this book is nothing short of awesome! Excellent instruction, detailed photos and clear step by step instructions to build the showcased models. I'm well on my way to building models of this caliber. The author is down to earth in his writing style and tells it like it is. There aren't in short cuts...its all attention to detail and hard work. If you want model building told like it is, this is the book for you!

This book is in full glossy color, with great photography. The beginning chapters are for new builders, but the rest is still full of great tips and techniques for any modeler. This book covers model builds such as: The (Glenco) Lunar Lander, Monogram Space Taxi, and the Babylon 5 Star Fury by Monogram / Revell. Resin kits are also covered, including: Star Wars B-Wing and TIE Bomber. A Roswell diorama model (similar to Testors crashed spacecraft with the alien bodies), and a Star Trek Klingon Bird of Prey (in a great diorama setting idea).
More kits built in the book are: Testors Area 51 UFO, Star Trek (AMT) Deep Space 9 Defiant, and Resin Martian machine from 1950's War of the Worlds movie (in a diorama setting), The Spindrift from Land of the Giants, an Alien's APC (Armored Personnel Carrier) by Halycon, and a resin 1/12 scale kit of a Space Pod from 2001. There is plenty of text to go with each build to help you along and keep you interested. You will find this book great for reference and full of ideas. I was pleasantly surprised with this publication. |
