Book Description

Simple Solar Panels is a step-by-step guide to building your very own DIY solar panel. There will be no guesswork involved as the book includes everything from a shopping list to detailed measurements and diagrams. Dozens of detailed photos illustrate every step from the soldering of the solar cells to the glass installation and functionality tests.

Also included is member access to the Solar DIY website that provides indexed videos showing you exactly how to do each and every step. The finished solar panel will produce 18 - 20 volts in direct sunlight. Best of all, the methods illustrated here can be scaled up for much larger individual panels or for constructing larger solar arrays to power your home or business. It all starts with a simple solar panel.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short but sweet explanation of building a solar panel February 13, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This book does not teach you how to build solar cells. And quite honestly, that would be a ridiculous undertaking for most anybody. But, it does teach you how to take those little 6*3 solar cells and wire them in series, how to build a frame to hold them and how to protect them and wire them to a battery. It was a great explanation for somebody looking for a high level overview of how panels are constructed. And, it would be a good backup reference for somebody that bought a solar panel kit. I'm certain that the explanation I read in this book will be better written than the average instruction manual that comes with those kits.
