The Next Big Thing,
By
This review is from: How to Call a Bluff (Audio CD)
My Favorite Highway is sure to explode onto the music scene in the upcoming year. Their re-released album "How To Call A Bluff" is full of catchy, yet meaningful songs. They're lyrics are refreshing compared to other songs today. You'll find yourself replaying their album over and over again. It's the perfect soundtrack to the summer! The album kicks off with two lively, high-tempo songs. The third song, "Say So" is the band's first single off of record [...]. The lyrics in the song "It's like she takes me up to ten, but she leaves me at eleven" are perfect to describe the album as well as the object of the song. This album will leave you on a high that can only be fixed by replaying the album. The 5th song "Bigger Than Love" should be called "Bigger than Life" because that's how the song feels. If you only listen to one song off this album, this should be it. The song showcases the wonders of love, telling the listener that "nothing's bigger than love". The song builds up to a great climax that will have listener with no choice but to sing along to the anthem with the band, and feel the energy in the song. This song is followed by another favorite of mine "Dreamer". The second completely new song to the album, and has the most energy I've heard in any song in a long time. The hits keep piling in as the album continues, with song you'll find stuck in your head with no way out. The album ends on a ballad, "Steel City" about the town of Pittsburg. Be on the lookout, My Favorite Highway is sure to be the next big thing!!

How to Call a Bluff is a great album. My Favorite Highway starts the album with a great song, ends it with a great song, and everything in between is great also. Say So is my favorite song on the album, the music video is really good too.[...] GREAT ALBUM!

Love My Favorite Highway!,
This review is from: How to Call a Bluff (Audio CD)
I love My Favorite Highway and this album is amazing. Everyone should buy it. I'm sure you'll love it. As a debut album from them, I am beyond excited to hear what's next for them. My favorite song off the album is "Getaway Car" but I love them all, which is rare. Usually I'll only like a few songs on an album, but I love every song on this album. With their beautiful melodies and catchy lyrics, it's just a matter of time before they are huge. Buy this album now, so you can say you knew and loved them before everyone else, because soon they'll be topping the charts with their catchy songs. [...]

I've been listening to these guys since their humble origins a few years ago and I must say it's no wonder they're going places so quickly (they've long since outgrown all the local venues where we used to catch them)! Keeping in [what is becoming] tradition with their clever lyrics and memorable melodies, How to Call a Bluff is a fantastic find! Take my advice and be one of the first to own it so you can say you knew them before the rest of the world! :D

While the songs are all very similar to each other, you can't help but sing along to each one. David has a fabulous voice, they use varying instrumentation on most of the songs to keep the interest, and the hooks are catchy! I bought this cd last night at a live show where I caught only one song from them - Getaway Car. Just listening to that one song was enough for me to buy their cd, and I'm so glad I did. These guys will be very successful on the radio, well done.

From start to finish this is a great album. The music is catchy, uplifting, makes you move and sing along. The band is so good no wonder they signed with Virgin. Can't wait to see them live on tour. They have a great video out that you can see on You Tube for "Say So." Check them out!

Great Great Great CD...I don't know why I haven't heard much from these guys before. Every song on the cd is worth a listen. New mix of Bittersweet Life is a refreshing change, maybe even single material. Highly recommended purchase. Give these guys a chance, you won't be disappointed! Keep up the good work guys!

I've had my eye on My Favorite Highway for about a year now. As soon as this CD came out I picked it up and WOW. It's amazing. Every song on it is quality, no filler here. I highly recommend it... one of my favorite CDs of 2008

Why are these guys not huge?,
By Audge (illinois) - See all my reviews

I strongly feel that this band will be huge. They've just yet to find their audience yet. Their poppyness makes them have potential for radio hits, yet their lyrics set them apart from other generic pop bands. They are in a genre that is overrun with bands that are just okay, but let me tell you these guys are not just another band, seriously give them a listen! Their lyrics are great all the songs will be stuck in your head for days. They have extremely strong piano parts that remind me of Jack's Mannequin. My favorite song is definitely "Getaway Car."
my only gripe with them is they have a very similar sound in all their songs where they just tend to blend together. I listen to them frequently but I couldn't tell you what song it is until they sing a few lyrics. I've also seen them live, very down to earth nice guys in my opinion. Listen to them!
