What a waste! I wanted a good book to give me some basic knowledge for installing ESX servers. In the middle of chapter 2, somebody dropped the ball. They printed the same directions 17 times in a row after each screen shot of the network setup. This is clearly wrong and a grave lack of attention to detail. People need to learn that spell checking alone is not a substitute for good ol' proof reading. What a disappointment. I want my money back. I'd give a review without any stars if I could.

I wanted a book to give me the knowledge for installing ESX 3.x servers. Chapter 1 is ok for installing v3.02 but not v3.5 (the current version). The book is filled with typos and grammatical mistakes. Chapter 2, "Installing Virtual Center" is the same directions repeated for each screen with no explanation. The book suffers from a lack of option explanations, and is therefore useful only for a test setup of VMWare.

With no previous experience I found this book helpful. However, it is aleady outdated as VMWare is using ESX 3.5 and Virtual Center 2.5. Screenshots in book do not correspond to these versions.
