5.0 out of 5 stars Useful information on alternatives for prostate cancer, March 26, 1999
By A Customer
You don't have to give yourself to the medical profession for treatments that may make you worse. This author has outlined a strategy for self directed recovery from a cancer that is only sometimes successfully treated by surgery or radiation. This book is a good source of hope men whose cancer is not appropriate for traditional medical approaches or who want to learn about their alternatives.

As a Registered Nurse dealing with patients with cancer and seeing the fear surrounding the medical profession, this book offers a breath of fresh air and a great deal of hope, to those who choose to actively participate in their own healing process, combining medical and alternative therapies.

a very informative book describing the authors journey from the turmoil and fear of learning he had Cancer, through to his eventual triumph over the disease in an informative and funny style that made it very easy to read and relate to.I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is loaded with great information and I would recommend it to anyone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Motivate yourself to avoid surgery, May 4, 1999
This review is from: How I Conquered Cancer: A Naturopathic Alternative (Paperback)
Easy read, casual style, poorly edited. If your doctor is recommending the KNIFE for your prostate problem: read this book FIRST! If you are willing to buck the system to save "the boys", this book may give you the motivation and direction to do so. Eric does a bit too much gazing into his own belly button, but it is amusing and may help you to see in yourself some of the weaknesses that have contributed to your problems and some of the strengths that will help you overcome them. This book is probably NOT a read for most women. If you are interested primarily in the PEPOLE personality profile system, I would suggest trying to get a copy of "The Velvet Glove" even though it is out of print.
