Editorial Reviews

Review

"This is a short, sweet, miniature cookbook illustrated by the wonderful papercut artist Nikki McClure. It has about a dozen recipes, and it is just the size and shape for a child to page through. It's a picture book for children and grownups alike, to inspire them to cook, with recipes both kids and parents can enjoy." (Daily Find)

"...the perfect combination of adorable, paper-cut illustrations done by the fantastically talented Nikki McClure, earthy recipes, and a little reminder that the experience of cooking and sharing with loved ones is more than half the fun of the day."

My husband bought this as a Christmas gift for me a couple of years ago. We are lucky enough to live in the same community as the author, Nikki McClure. After years of enjoying her art work, calendars, and her journals, it has been a pleasure to cook her simple recipes. She has a story behind each one, and together they tell of a life well-lived. Her poppy seed rolls finally allowed me to say, "I can bake bread!" And her ginger ale recipe provides the perfect base for a rockin' mojito. Loved it! My only complaint is that I wish it were longer.

I adore Nikki McClure's books and prints. I anticipated a wonderful cookbook and was less than thrilled. The books is small with just a few recipes. I expected more recipes and just more of a "wow" factor. It is a purchase I wish I had not made.
