This is a hard review to write. This is, as is already pointed out in the Amazon description, a classic text by Eihei Dogen. I can't say anything about this book that someone else hasn't already said more eloquently.
If you don't know who Dogen is, or even what a Tenzo is, then I will state now that this book probably isn't for you. There are better introductions to the subject available. On the other hand, if you know you need this book, then you don't need me to tell you so. The only thing I feel qualified to comment on is the binding; and I find the binding to be excellent. It seems like a solidly constructed book that will hold up to years of use.

This book was recommended to me by my dear friend and Zen priest Reverend Kensho Furuya.
It is a masterpiece. One paragraph in particular resonated with me profoundly and helped transform the way I look at life. |
