About the Author

A psychotherapist in practice for almost 20 years, Ms. Mansfield has a private practice in Connecticut and another in Chapala, Mexico. She writes a column, "Psychology for Everyday Use" for the Ojo del Lago, an English language newspaper in Mexico, has written two plays, both of which were performed at the Eugene O'Neill Theater in Waterford, Connecticut, and designed a cable TV series entitled "Parenting, the Career of a Lifetime".
