The book gave me intriguing insights into how the human brain works in infatuation, falling in love, and long lasting love relationships. It also taught me about the actual chemicals that make people feel "crazy in love" (dopamine) and want to bond together for a long time (oxytocin.) What I especially liked about it was that it was broken down into actual techniques called "Sparkers" that you can do to create initial romantic chemistry with someone and then turn it into love.
I recommend the first half of this book to anyone who wants to excite someone sexually. Then I recommend the second half to anyone who wants to keep a partner and bring back the excitement.
On a purely personal level, there were so many passages that explained things that have happened to me over the years, and made me go, "Oh yes, now I get it!"
It should be required reading for anyone falling in love or planning to.
Leil Lowndes out of curiosity, possibly business reasons. She tossed it after we both read some of the outrageous things in it. Worst book EVER written. Also, we both agree, horrible advice for poor unsuspecting young people out there.
I used to ask myself, "Why I would suddenly feel chemistry for one person and not another?" Now I think I understand. The book has given me at least 5 important insights because I now know . . .
1. How, to the extent it is possible, make someone I'm attracted to feel instant chemistry with me.
2. When to trust chemistry and when not to.
3. How to make a better decision on the person I will choose as a permanent partner.
4. How to make that person feel I am the right one for her.
5. What to do in the relationship to keep the love alive.
"How to Create Chemistry with Anyone" is one of the few books I've read that delves into a deep subject, gives scientific proof, and is a lot of fun to read. Less important, but along the way I learned some interesting facts I'd like to share with you.
* Feeling chemistry for someone takes place in 1/5 of a second
* A guy's testosterone level shoots up 1/3 even casually chatting with an attractive female stranger.
* No matter how much people love each other, the hot passionate stage of love only lasts about 2 years.
* When sexual desire lessens, as it naturally will, it does NOT mean love is dying.
* 2/3 of all relationships are actually started by the female
* Only 1 man in 31 can accurately tell if a woman is coming on to him or rejecting him.
* If the first kiss doesn't taste good, nature is trying to tell you you're not right for each other in producing healthy offspring.Read more ›
