Wow! The things that you can do with DNA!,

I thought that this book was very interesting. It is really unbelievable what DNA can say about a person's ancestral history. DNA can fill in the rest of a family's history where the photo album and genealogical research abruptly stops. And this book takes an easy approach to explaining the details without getting to technical.Good story telling, too.

Not having any prior knowledge or experience in science, this book helped explain what all the DNA phenomenon is about. The examples and information excited me about doing my own search and testing that it is now my hobby! It's the hottest topic amongst my friends and neighbors who are also getting the book and ready to dig into their "presumed" family history. I guess I'm most satisfied in that it helped me realize how powerful DNA is and as they say, knowledge is power!

The book contains much valuable information for those who have concerns or problems related to the use of DNA technology in genealogical and forensic applications. It is well presented and to the point. The book certainly provides a useful background for someone who would like to know more about genomics. It does include some good discussions of the practical applications with balanced consideration of the controversies, although it may be too technical for many genealogists (and for many others right on the money).
