How to Deal,
By
This review is from: How To Deal (Paperback)
My 15 year old son found the book to be very useful due to the fact that it was right to the point. I was amazed when he commented about something that was in the book, that I had been trying to advise him on repeatedly. It wasn't that the message was so different; it was, as he said the way Dr. Weichman put in into his words. He never thought about putting it that way. My son doesn't read a lot, but he read this book and I believe it will make a big difference in his life, as Dr. Weichman has.

Easy and applicable read,

How to Deal was a really quick and easy read. The book is written in "regular" language and offers practical tools that teens can use to get through high school and just life in general. The tips he gives are easy enough to conceptualize and try out. Plus it's not like the other cheesy teenager books I have bought for our family in the past where the author clearly has no idea what it's like to be a teen today. The book is put together in a format that's easy to follow and it has a lot of funny stories from the Dr. Jerry's real life. Highly recommended for your teenagers, though you might like reading it too.

This book worked great for my son. He read it (which is a miracle in itself) and liked it. Highly recommend for your teenager, even if they usually don't like to read.

Tools for Change,
This review is from: How To Deal (Paperback)
I purchased this book for my 13 year old niece in preparation for her transition to Junior High School. She really loved getting a book that was about her and a real life guide that she could relate to. It was an easy and quick read and I noticed she even earmarked some pages that she liked the best. The Toolbox concept is a fantastic way for young adolescents to grab a skill that that they need whenever necessary. I will definitely be gifting this book to the other teenagers in my life.

I was in Orange County recently and attended one of Dr. Weichman's lectures for parents of teens. It was excellent so I purchased the book afterwards for my 13-year old daughter who has been struggling a great deal lately with her friends in middle school. She read the book in one sitting, which she doesn't even do with her magazines. This is a great little book! My daughter is now trying out several of the concepts and even tried to quote the book in order to help me last week when I was ranting about the office. Overall, I recommend this book to teens and parents of teenagers like myself.
