And Archetypal journey of Healing, Compassion and Joy, February 15, 2005
This review is from: How My Death Saved My Life: And Other Stories on My Journey to Wholeness (Paperback)
The moment I started reading this book, I simply could not stop: it is very well written, and takes you on a journey that is rich and powerful, while being fully and deeply lived.
Denise Linn shares the intense trials of growing up with a mother that becomes increasingly mentally ill, raising her kids in a home where there is no sense of nurturing, safety and care. Experiencing all kinds of physical and emotional abuse, she finds nature to be the only place where she can feel connected with a sense of peace, comfort and healing.
As she moves through her amazing journey, guided by a powerful creative desire to heal herself and help others, she is often touched by grace, as she follows her inner guidance and finds ways to transform suffering and deep trials into Compassion and Radiant Joy.
When the heart and the willingness to transform, are the central guides of a life journey, a human being can become the best of what she or he can be. Thank you, Denise Linn, for offering us such a powerful archetypal example of a journey that we all can take.

A Beautiful, Inspirational Autobiography, April 7, 2006
This review is from: How My Death Saved My Life: And Other Stories on My Journey to Wholeness (Paperback)
I just finished reading "How My Death Saved My Life", and I am truly moved & amazed by this authors' life experiences - what a journey!!!
In this autobriography, Denise Linn bares her soul - she shares the joys, horrors & hardships of growing up poor with a mother who was mentally ill, and a father who left them when she was still quite young (and who molested her during a time period when her mother was in a mental institution).
Then, at age 17, Denise was shot and nearly died. It was during this time that she experienced an NDE, and began noticing a heightening of her "sixth senses" - leading her to start learning about alternative healing, which she then used to heal many, many people along the way.
It's amazing how, when reading someone elses life story, you can see the synchronicities of life - how each experience (whether we perceive it as good or bad) allows you to learn what you need in order to progress to the "next step". In fact, she states toward the end of the book that she began to realize that it was her difficult childhood that led her to explore the things she did - without it, she would have been a different person...
This book is filled with wonderful angelic & "other worldly" experiences that served to help the author move forward, and find the right path for her. I found each & every one of the experiences to be both amazing & inspiring.
Overall, I learned a lot from the life experiences & learning lessons of this author. This book is an interesting, page-turning read, and I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in spirituality - it has a lot to offer.
