From the Inside Flap
For our day, Jesus does not emphasize the breaking up of families, public exhibition of homosexuality, the horrible murder of the unborn, the AIDS epidemic and frightening increases in illegal drug use. He simply tells us that people will be just the same as they have always been and always will be: they eat, they drink, they marry and give in marriage; they buy and sell, plan and build. But He does reveal one important item, "And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away..." They did everything that normal people do, but neglected on thing: They did not go into the saving ark God had provided through Noah. Why, we may ask, did they not go into the ark? Because they were quite busy with their normal way of life and things were going well for them.
Are things going well for us today? We are no longer threatened by dictatorship, communism, or Nazism. "We, the people" are in charge. We are a democracy.
People who are secure in their democratic government do not need to take notice of the Scripture's warning that great deception will come upon the entire world. Thus, the virtual guarentee of peace and prosperity through democracy is causing more and more people to trust in this system and "...know not..." what the Bible has to say about the endtimes. They are neglecting the most important thing, salvation of the soul.
It is ironic that democracy, the system we so love, cherish, and defend, is the only system that seems to match the endtime political scenario whereby the entire world will be united. Strangely enough, it is not through the force of communism, or some dictatorship, but the peaceful means of election "by the people, for the people," that the prophesied one world system is being established in our day!
