5.0 out of 5 stars A Teacher's Delight
As a substitute teacher for kindergarten, first grade, and second grade I've found "How Do Bears Sleep?" a useful part of my Arsenal of Tricks to intrigue young children. Its fanciful rhymes and enjoyable story are a hit every time.

I was impressed by the authors thought process and attempt at explaining hibernation to children. However, I found the reading material fairly dry- and the illustrations will not hold a childs attn.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Teacher's Viewpoint, January 30, 2001

Unlike the children I've read this delightful book to, Diane Nunn in the "From School Library Journal" review completely misses the point that this is a HUMOROUS book. How nice it is to find a book that makes children laugh out loud.

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple, thought provoking for 3-5 year olds, August 16, 2011

This is an easy to read, rhyming book. The sketch type drawings lead you through the book. The art work wont distact from the text. The text won't distract from children's thoughts as they think about how do bears sleep? So we know they hibernate... but how does that look. This book leads the reader on an exploration of how bears might hibernate - rocks as pillows? on back or side? It is a nice thinking sort of book.
