4.0 out of 5 stars Learning to Respect Books.
This extremely little short book (only 6 pages!!!) is written in the same style as Jane Yolen & Mark Teague's other dinosaur book collaborations together, such as HOW DO DINOSAURS SAY GOOD NIGHT? and HOW DO DINOSAURS GET WELL SOON? The book was created as a promotional item to teach kids to have good reading habits and to respect books. The illustrations are lively and...

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time or money
I just received this book today, sight unseen. What a waste! My daughter loves these "dinosaur" series of books, and we have several, but this one was disappointing. It is not at all like the others. It is one of those free-bee small "booklets" that Scholastic gives to the teachers. It has six pages and measures 6" x 9". It is more of a pamphlet than a book...

The book was created as a promotional item to teach kids to have good reading habits and to respect books. The illustrations are lively and the rhyming text delivers the message well. As short as it is, this could be one book that parents might not mind reading over and over.

4.0 out of 5 stars How cute is this message!, April 6, 2005
This review is from: How Do Dinosaurs Learn to Read? (Paperback)
Wow - what a great message that it delivers to kids!! Don't give up on trying to learn to read and have respect for books - wonderful! I got it for free when ordering other books and if it wasn't so short I would've probably paid for it! :) It has cute rhymes that I think children learning to read will love - this could even be one of the first books they read because the language is very simple and easy to understand!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Short on Pages but Long on Message, January 11, 2005
This review is from: How Do Dinosaurs Learn to Read? (Paperback)
This short 6-page booklet, follows the same format as Jane Yolen's other "How Do Dinosaurs ... ?" books with the same vibrant illustrations by Mark Teague. In clever couplets, Miss Yolen teaches children how to care for books and how to approach reading skills: "How does a dinosaur learn how to read? Does he stomp on the book? Does he whimper and plead? Does he turn all the pages without looking through it? Does he pout and shout out that there's no way to do it? . . . . "
