Very good introduction,
By johare "johare4" (Tucson, AZ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: How to Do Everything with Frontpage 2002 (How to Do Everything) (Paperback)
Reviewer: johare4Of course, a title like "how to do everything..." is just a set -up for failure. But who is taken in these days by exaggerated claims? This book is a really excellent introduction. Open the book anywhere and you know almost at once what problem the author is solving and what utility is being added to the web page. Go to the index and find exactly what you are looking for. Want to find how to set the default font? Right in the index under font and described in detail on p. 448. I am amazed how often this simple, basic information is missing or buried in Frontpage books. (Buyen's "Inside Out" stuffs basic info like this inconveniently into a CD.) Plotkin is enthusiastic, well organized, and reader-oriented. You are taken from a level assuming no understanding of the ubiquitous Word/Excel menus/toolbars to a level adequate for all but professional web developers. Bottom line: Frontpage 2002 is different. If you are fairly new to Frontpage and want to know what features do what, how to use them and how to navigate the (expletive deleted) menus, this is the book to get.
