Author Todd Stauffer devotes a significant amount of text to using AppleWorks software. He explains how to format letters, perform calculations with spreadsheets, create graphs, and draw pictures with this productivity suite. He also includes coverage of Kai's Photo Soap and Quicken, along with information on using Internet software from Microsoft and Netscape. The author mixes expert, fact-rich prose with step-by-step procedures that ought to solve almost any problem you encounter.
The real pleasure of reading this book derives from Stauffer's writing style. He's funny without being flip or sounding strained; he's technically accurate without being tedious, and the information he includes is comprehensive without being dull. His style enables you to read this book away from your iMac and still come away more knowledgeable about your computer. --David Wall

best imac book to date,
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Do Everything With Your Imac (Paperback)
I started from scratch (not much computer know how, particularly Macs) when I bought my Imac, and I was aware that it didn't come with a manual. I purchased other books; including Imac for Dummies, The Imac Book, and The Little Imac Book(appropriate title). I'm nothing if not thorough. Each book I purchased had information the other books lacked. But this book is, by far, the most comprehensive and concise one I've read. There is so much more information covered in this book that I wish it had been published sooner. It's the book I refer to the most. Stauffer is a clear, detailed writer with a nice sense of humor. If you're only going to by one Imac book, make it this one.

Excellent, comprehensive manual for any iMac user,

This review is from: How to Do Everything With Your Imac (Paperback)
I recently travelled back to the US to help my Dad get set-up with an iMac. While he loved the simplicity of the system, he did miss not having printed material to ponder (and no amount of "but we're saving the trees" would suffice). After an hour pouring over iMac books at Borders we chose this one (of course it's cheaper here!) because of it's thouroghness in covering the additional software included with the iMac. It has the best, most complete coverage of AppleWorks and Quicken of any book out there, as well as complete system coverage, setup information and and how to use the Internet with Navigator. I went back to Holland knowing my Dad can now figure anything out...excellent reference, buy this one!

This is the one to get for IMac devotees,
By A Customer
This review is from: How to Do Everything With Your Imac (Paperback)
I bought an IMac and needed some kind of hard copy to go with it. I purchased five other books before this one. If only I had known about this book first I could have saved a lot of money. This is the only book you IMac devotees will need. It has everything, including info on Kai's Photo Soap which no one else has. The title How to do Everything is very apt. But everything should be in great big letters because it is EVERYTHING.
