If you haven't the time, read it anyway!,

I first read this as the mother of three small children. A friend had told me about it, but I was fed up with books that made you feel inadequate, and I thought this was just another. However, the same friend mantioned it again later, so I decided to try it. It was my salvation! Pat is the mother of ten children (ok, I suppose that might make me feel inadequate, but get past it, and she is revealed to be otherwise quite normal!) Pat is refreshingly honest about the failures, the successes and the realities of life with children. The book is full of really helpful suggestions and also much on helping you sort out the priorities. Her advice was certainly part of the solution of some problems I was having with one of my children. Added to all that worthiness it is FUNNY. I would recommend it to anyone who has children, small or large, and probably to anyone who has time pressure and a feeling of drowning under their own chaos! I've since had a fourth child and lived to tell the tale. I would love to know what Mrs King is doing now!

Pat updates Grandma's Game to modern day. She shows how structure adds time to your day and yet flexibility allows you to enjoy life. It is an easy read written in a warm, personal style that inspires the reader to try it! Pat says "There is abundant time for everything we've been called to do."

I have had someone else's copy which I have put off returning. The only reason I'm not buying both available copies now (one to lend, and one to keep so I don't risk losing it) is because I don't want to stop someone else buying it. I agree completely with the first review, but would just like to emphasise again two of the things which were said: 1. It's definitely an encourager and a guilt reducer for all of us inefficient people - in spite of the fact that its author has obviously achieved a lot. 2. Although some chapters are mainly relevant to mothers, some are relevant to anyone who feels they don't have enough time for everything. You probably need to know that it's written from a Christian point of view, but I think most of it would be relevant whatever you believe. I often quote it to people, and now, at last, I will be able to lend it.
